Kevin Jonas shared details of a mistake that had him spiraling.
The lead guitarist of the Jonas Brothers boy band admitted that he accidentally sent an X-rated photo to their football group chat. His heart went through the roof as he scrambled to take the picture down.

Kevin Jonas Recalls An Unwholesome Picture Sent To The Group Chat
Kevin shared an incident that makes him the first Jonas brother with a record of sending an inappropriate photo. He explained that he took a picture of his TV in his bathroom to send to a football group chat his brothers, among others, were in. However, the musician did not realize his intimate parts had snuck into the photo.
Recounting the incident on the October 27 episode of their “Hey Jonas! Podcast,” Kevin began jokingly saying, “I did something that ruined my entire day.”
The Jonas Brothers member explained that they have a dedicated text thread for the New York Giants that, according to Joe, “has been going on for 15 years.” Their friends, photographer, and original tour drummer are also members of the group chat.
When it was announced that J.J. McCarthy had taken over as the team’s starting quarterback on October 25, Kevin decided to send a photo of his TV displaying the headline to their “GO BLUE” group chat; however, he did not notice the picture featured his p-nis.
He explained he took the picture just before hopping into the shower, and his p-nis was visible in the mirror. The musicians revealed that no one noticed at first, and someone even responded to the McCarthy announcement alone.
The Father Of Two Switched To Frantic Mode
Kevin realized his special parts were in the picture and started sending several texts urging everyone in the group chat to delete it. His two brothers, Nick and Joe, were together when Kevin’s panic texts started rolling in. The latter was “on the couch playing video games” while Nick was getting his hair cut.
They said they were both initially confused by the messages until they realized Kevin had accidentally included his private parts in the TV photo. Joe tagged it “the greatest series of messages,” and Nick called it “legendary.”
“Guys, delete the photo. I’m sorry,” “C-ck my life,” “F-ck,” and “Delete the thread f-ck,” a panicked Kevin texted one after the other. A different group chat member, Rob Hoffman, sent several laughing emojis upon seeing Kevin’s texts, to which the guitarist replied: “I’m such a moron.”
“What’s funny is not the photo. It’s these four texts back to back that are like poetry,” Nick said as the trio laughed about the accidental snap.
The Jonas Brothers Previously Recalled The ‘Odd’ Interest In Their Teenage Sex Lives
Last year, the trio spoke to Variety about their years as teenage stars on Disney. Nick pointed out that they got a bizarre amount of attention for details about their intimate lives.
He described it as “very inappropriate,” saying that people should not have that much interest in the sex lives of teenagers. Joe echoed a similar sentiment, saying, “There was a lot of interest in our sexual life during our teenage years, which was odd.”
The youngest Jonas brother explained that despite how uncomfortable the spotlight on that aspect of their lives felt, he still tried to see the positive impact it has had on other teen stars in the industry today.
“I’m happy we went through whatever we went through to get there,” Nick said, adding that he hoped their experience would help drive positive change in the industry.

Why The Jonas Brothers’ Sex Lives Were A Hot Topic
The musician brothers were raised as evangelical Christians, and their purity rings caught eyes when they came into the spotlight in 2005. They had pledged not to have intimate relations till theu got married, and according to Joe, the rings represented “promises to ourselves and to God that we’ll stay pure till marriage.”
Joe explained years later that they did not intentionally publicize their celibacy pledge but only spoke about it after a journalist pointed the rings out during an interview. In 2019, Nick said he was disappointed that their purity rings “became a defining factor” of their band in their early career.
BuzzFeed detailed that by the time the group went on a break in 2013, they had all taken off the jewelry. Ultimately, only Kevin stayed true to his vow and waited to have his sexual debut on his wedding night when he married Danielle in 2009.
Kevin Jonas Sr. Was Keen On Maintaining His Sons’ Disney Image
Kevin Sr., who was a pastor in New Jersey, was hands-on in ensuring his sons’ public images aligned with their faith and family values. Former Columbia Records president Steve Greenberg told author Ashley Spencer in “Disney High: The Untold Story of the Rise and Fall of Disney Channel’s Tween Empire” that while he had worked with many kids whose parents were involved in their careers, “the Jonases’ dad was, by far, the most proactive and great of them all.”
Spencer explained that when they were putting the 2009 concert film “Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience” together, Kevin Sr. was worried that his sons would be “perceived as too sexual” in some of the scenes, as PEOPLE reported.
Some footage showed the musicians using foam guns to spray the ecstatic crowd with a white, soapy substance, then soaking themselves while banging on water-doused drums.
Since they were wearing fitted shirts, their nipples were in view, and the Jonas patriarch did not like that. The management team ultimately cropped out the suggestive footage to preserve their Disney image.
Kevin Jonas may want to start double-checking all his photos going forward.
