Black Woman-Owned G.O.A.T. Fuel Becomes The Official Energy Drink Of A WNBA Franchise

Earlier this year, G.O.A.T. Fuel Co-Founder Jacqui Rice Gold told AFROTECH™ that the energy drink company had plans for reaching new heights. Holding true to the statement, G.O.A.T. Fuel — also co-founded by her father, NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, and her husband, Trevion Gold — is growing its wings within the WNBA.

According to a press release shared with AFROTECH™, the brand has partnered with the Chicago Sky — making it the WNBA team’s first official energy drink. The partnership follows the company becoming the Los Angeles Lakers’ energy drink of choice.

“Working with the Chicago Sky is a dream for the G.O.A.T. Fuel brand,” Rice Gold shared in a press statement. “As a childhood basketball player, I always admired the excellence, hard work, and determination of those who made it to the WNBA. In addition, as a female CEO, I’m proud to partner with the Chicago SKY, a natural alignment as we share the same values.”

Rice added, “Becoming the official energy drink of the Chicago Sky is a pivotal moment in the G.O.A.T. Fuel journey. Chicago is a storied sports market and had some of the greatest athletes of all time, and now, with the excitement surrounding the WNBA, it’s the perfect time to partner with the Sky.”

As the team’s official energy drink, G.O.A.T. Fuel is set to be a part of on-court and fan activations, including sweepstakes, giveaways, and samplings, the press release details.

“Partnering with G.O.A.T. Fuel, a brand that celebrates athletic performance and excellence, is important to us,” said Alex Teodosi, Chicago Sky’s vice president of corporate partnerships. “We are proud to introduce a great product with unique performance benefits to Chicago Sky players and fans.”

As previously reported by AFROTECH™, in addition to having vitamins, electrolytes, BCAs, no sugar, and natural caffeine through green tea, G.O.A.T. Fuel fuses adaptogens including cordyceps mushrooms into its high-performance, premium sports energy drinks. Products are sold on the shelves of Walmart, Target, and Publix.
