Calling all music festival fans! The 6th annual Make Music Pasadena festival will be held on June 1st from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. with over 150 concerts throughout Pasadena, the best part being that the festival is free. Make Music Pasadena is the largest free festival on the West Coast with an expected 35,000 attendees. The lineup for the festival this year includes Tanlines, Yacht, Robert DeLong, Hunter Hunted, We are Scientists, Las Cafeteras, Tobrreblanca, Superhumanoids, Dom la Nena, Soko and a special headliner that will be announced later. All ages are welcome to the festival, and it will take place in downtown Pasadena. Make Music will cover many different genres of music from classical to funk, and the performances will be scattered throughout the city in various locations including libraries, museums and rooftop pop-ups.
There will be special performances taking place throughout the day, including a 15-piece ukulele orchestra, a special evening performance from Dom La Nena and Sleeping at Last accompanied by strings.
The Pasadena Arts Buses will be running free all day, linking main stages as well as live music on board.
Make Music Pasadena is modeled on the Fete De La Musique event that started in Paris in 1982 as a way to celebrate music. Fete De La Musique has now spread to over 350 countries participating in World Music Day, which that falls on June 21st yearly. The goal of Make Music Pasadena is to promote music for people of all ages and backgrounds. The festival will provide an opportunity for audiences to enjoy a vast amount of music with no cost at all.
