Paula Page plays Lenore in It’s You, Not Me
Cliché: Tell us about your character in a couple sentences. Paula Page: I am a waitress in a bar and restaurant. Lenore is busy, seen it all, and doesn’t mind telling her inebriated customers what she thinks, especially the blind date and online daters.
Have you ever played this role in your own personal dating life?
Yes, both as a busy waitress and the role of meeting some fairly unusual characters via online dating. Ugh!
What do you like/dislike about your character?
I love my character. She is sassy.
Tell us your most memorable experience while shooting this series.
The whole day was memorable. I had lots of fun shooting on set.
How did you come to be a part of this project?
I was cast by Renee Kay and Lauren Patrice Nadler.
What was it like working with your long time teacher wearing the director hat?
It was great. Lauren is an awesome teacher. She pulls the best performance from everyone she directs. She is a pleasure to be on set with.
How collaborative or how much freedom did you have to “play” or improvise on set?
I had a lot of freedom. Lauren gives you direction, but she also wants you to drop into whatever role you are in bringing your own experience, so that it is real and truthful.
What was the funnest part of shooting this episode?
Working with Ty and telling him his breath was kicking. He is a very funny man.
Personal notes or comments about this episode.
The entire day was fun working with many talented creative people: writer, cast, crew and director. If I could do this everyday for a living “acting,” I would never “work” another day in my life.
