Raven Tryon plays Wendy in It’s You, Not Me
Cliché: Tell us about your character in a couple sentences.
Raven Tryon: She is the tomboy waitress at the local restaurant and bar. She is friends with all the “regular” guys, including Luke. She encounters some of his horrors in the online dating realm when he brings them to his usual spot.
Have you ever played this role in your own personal dating life?
Well, Wendy is dating Bill, the bartender at the restaurant. So, I have dated people I work with at a restaurant. You spend so much time together opening and closing the restaurant that you find an easy connection that way.
What do you like/dislike about your character?
I like Wendy because she is just one of the cool chicks, who doesn’t want drama. I think she certainly will speak her mind. I wouldn’t put it past Wendy to throw a drink on someone “by accident” if they are a difficult customer.
Tell us your most memorable experience while shooting this series.
I enjoyed working with the other cast members. Everyone was top notch and there to have a good time.
How did you come to be a part of this project?
I was an actress cast in Renee Kay’s last project, a dramatic short film called Being Brielle. It was fun to work with her and Lauren Patrice Nadler again on a comedy project.
How collaborative or how much freedom did you have to “play” or improvise on set?
My character actually had a lot of freedom in this area. There were not a whole lot of pre-written lines for Wendy just scenarios where she gets to talk and respond to all the crazies circling around her in her place of business.
