Jiro Dreams of Sushi
The film follows Jiro Ono, an 85-year-old sushi chef and owner of Sukiyabashi Jiro, a Michelin three-star restaurant. Sukiyabashi Jiro is a small, sushi-only restaurant located in a Tokyo subway station. The film also profiles Jiro’s two sons who also work as sushi chefs. There is no real conflict or drama in this documentary, but it’s shot so beautifully and is a pleasant escape from the typical gut-punch docs. Whether you are a foodie or not, this film will surely entertain you.
