If you’re planning a wedding in 2015 but need some inspiration when making those big decisions, then take a look at our guide to the upcoming theme trends for next year, as seen on the catwalks and bridal shows throughout 2014.
Wedding Dresses 2015
Bridal gowns for 2015 appear to be moving away from the traditional and tapping into our love for the fashion of the 1940s and 50s. Expect to find off the shoulder necklines whilst searching for your ideal dress and channel Marilyn Monroe or Bridget Bardot whilst walking down the aisle.
Wedding dresses will also mix it up colour wise, with subtle pastel hues including soft blush pinks, delicate greens and tranquil blues. Flowing skirts and embellished bodies will enhance these ethereal looks.
Breaking away completely from traditional themed gowns are crop tops and two-piece dresses, which the brave bride can bare her midriff in – so a good all over tan is compulsory. It’s great for the more alternative bride, simply top off with long loose hair and a slick of red lippie.
Wedding Venue Décor 2015
Whether you’re still browsing Bride Online Wedding Venues or have chosen the perfect setting for your big day there are some wedding venue décor trends for 2015 you can consider.
Rustic themed settings are still a hot trend; think warm woods, comforting colours like soft browns, deep reds and peaceful greens and complement with filling home cooked style foods, candlelight and plenty of comfy places to sit.
Fairy lights aren’t just for a 12 year old girl’s bedrooms or Christmas trees; fun twinkling lights are one of the top trends for wedding venue décor for 2015 and you can drape these over tables, along walls or have them hanging from the ceiling to create a magical theme.
Forget gold or silver, copper and bronze are having their time in the spotlight when it comes to wedding décor themes. Include candlesticks, napkin rings, wine glass rims and even invitation embossing featuring copper or bronze on your wedding day and you’ll be right on trend. Take some inspiration from this wedding, which features lots of trends for 2015.
Wedding Food 2015
Dresses might be becoming non traditional but wedding cakes are returning to their classic, white tiered roots. Most brides are still steering clear of the traditional fruitcake though and opting for something everyone will enjoy.
Wedding food trucks have become an increasingly popular theme at weddings, waiting for those hungry guests who have danced their dinner off, drunk a little bit too much and are looking for something to nibble on. From hamburger trucks to pizza to ice cream stands and even tacos, the options are endless and provide a quirky twist to the evening buffet.
Wedding Flowers 2015
Kim and Kanye have set the bar high when it comes to wedding flowers and it now looks like 2015 trends have taken inspiration from this power couple. Think extravagance and romance when choosing the theme for your flowers; white roses are the definition of luxury and whilst you might not be able to afford a 10ft wall of them, featuring them in your bouquet and table arrangements will tick this trend.
So when it comes to 2015 weddings, their recurring themes appear to be ‘nostalgia, non traditional and decadence’ and are what you should base as the foundation for your big day decisions.
