Allegra Edwards Boots Up for the Last Season of “Upload”

Allegra Edwards Boots Up for the Last Season of “Upload”

Acting has made Allegra Edwards attuned to life’s myriad avenues. There’s nothing like stepping into someone else’s shoes to give you a grateful perspective. “I’ve learned that living your life, in whatever shape it takes, only serves to add colors to your palette,” she muses. “I’ve learned that music is a powerful portal. And that acting is listening and listening fosters empathy and empathy heals.”

Allegra will be channeling ultimate diva Ingrid on Prime Video’s Upload for one last time. “Upload’s final season is jam packed. The stakes are at their highest yet, and the core characters unite against a common enemy. We continue to explore the ever-relevant philosophical implications of what happens when technology outpaces humanity, and we do it with a sprinkling of the bizarre. We go out with a bang!”

Ingrid embodies not only who protagonist Nathan was at the start of the series, but also who he’s becoming. “Certainly Ingrid possesses more of the vanity and confidence we couldn’t help but love when we first met Nathan. I also think she has become one of his safest spaces, surprisingly, partly because she has known him the longest but also because of how fiercely she protects him from harm. Nathan’s journey away from self-serving has an impact on Ingrid’s identity and purpose, and I’ve loved watching them grow, separately but together.”

When it comes to whether or not she would upload herself, Allegra is more ambivalent. “To me, uploading seems more like choosing purgatory. Maybe if I could have a free 7-day trial? Enjoy the novelty, witness my virtual funeral, ‘eat’ bottomless maple bacon donuts… I could check it out without fully committing and then when my time was up, I’d check out for real.” After all, having an eternity to be stuck with your own internal monologue might not be as appealing as it initially sounds. “Living inside the world of Upload for nearly eight years now has taught me that just because something is *possible* doesn’t mean it is what’s *best* for us. The benefits of some technological advancements may not be worth the cost, and the eternal parts of ourselves are best left in analog.” Stream the fourth and final season of Upload on Prime Video starting August 25th.
