The musician and STEAM education activist is set to launch a SiriusXM show titled, “will.i.am Presents the FYI Show,” according to a press release.
Backed by his AI messaging app, FYI, the show will discuss AI innovation at the intersection of pop culture, music, entertainment, world news, and technology, the press release details.
“The FYI Show is a celebration of creators, innovators, and their dreams,” will.i.am shared in a press statement. “Episodes delve into AI-powered projects, exploring the What and the How, while also understanding the passion behind them. At FYI, we provide the right tools, infusing AI to help materialize dreams. An amazing journey awaits us!”
Airing on SiriusXM, will.i.am will be joined by guests to share “next level knowledge” to listeners.
“will.i.am is an extraordinary talent who has been at the nexus of entertainment and technology for some time,” said SiriusXM President and Chief Content Officer Scott Greenstein. “SiriusXM offers an ideal platform for him to combine these passions and create a cutting-edge show that can showcase his renowned creativity, his insights into trends and much more.”
will.i.am’s “The FYI Show” will air exclusively on SiriusXM’s The 10s Spot beginning in January 2024.
“I don’t own that,” he said. “I own the rights to ‘I Gotta Feeling.’ I own the rights to the songs that I wrote, but I don’t own the rights to my face or my voice? There’s new laws and new industries about to [boom]. And this time next year you’ll be like, ‘Oh, will.i.am said that on that radio station.’ The fact is these are all new parameters that we’re all trying to navigate around because the technology is that amazing. And with amazingness comes regulations and governance that we have yet to implement on the tech.”
