Tyra Banks Is Opening An Ice Cream Shop In Washington, DC

Tyra Banks is working on a new venture.

According to ABC News, the supermodel and television personality plans to open an ice cream shop in Washington, DC, named Smize & Dream.

Banks took to Instagram to announce the venture.

“She’s serving…@smizeanddream ice cream in Washington, D.C. – SO VERY SOON! 💛 Get ready for a creamy dreamy experience,” she wrote.

Previously, Banks had opened an ice cream truck in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, but those ice cream products were only available in the U.S. in pre-packaged pints during a pop-up that Banks held in Los Angeles, CA, per ABC News.

Banks credits her interest in the ice cream industry to a shared passion for ice cream with her mother, she explained on Instagram in December 2023.

“My mama and I have been obsessed with ice cream for forever. And now (and WOW), I got me some big ice cream DREAMS with @SMiZEandDREAM,” she wrote.

At the soon-to-be-open ice cream shop, customers can expect at least 10 ice cream flavors, including “Cap Hill Crunch,” inspired by Cap’n Crunch cereal and made with toffee crunch and cereal milk-soaked French toast pieces. Banks will also include “Smize Surprize” at the bottom of every cone and cup, which is a sprinkle-coated truffle that will include fillings like jelly, cookie dough, cake crumbles, and cream, per ABC News.

Smize & Dream’s grand opening is slated for Friday, July 19, 2024, and it will remain open until Friday, Sept. 20, 2024.

Banks is working on hiring a team to help run the shop and held a job fair on Monday, July 15.

“We are about to launch our Smize & Dream pop up right here in Washington D.C. and we are at the final stretch of building our dream team of people that will work with us on our Smize & Dream squad… My team can’t wait to meet you,” Banks expressed in an Instagram post.
