Memorial Day is a holiday dedicated to remembering those we lost as they served in the armed forces. Many people mark this day with backyard BBQs, pool parties, and family gatherings. If you are throwing a party this weekend or on Monday, good food and good music can help set the mood and help you enjoy your day. The playlist I created features a ton of classic rock songs and some new dance tunes to get you grooving, as well as some slower songs to mark this day of remembrance. Here are 15 songs to feature:
“Shut Up and Dance” — Walk the Moon
“You Can Call Me Al” — Paul Simon
“Sweet Home Alabama” — Lynyrd Skynyrd
“Jessie’s Girl” — Rick Springfield
“Ain’t No Grave” — Johnny Cash
“Warriors” — Imagine Dragons
“American Pie” — Don McLean
“Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” — Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell
“New Lands” — Justice
“The Weight” — The Band
“Brown Eyed Girl” — Van Morrison
“Riding With The King” — Eric Clapton and B.B. King
“Summer of ‘69” — Bryan Adams
“I Feel the Earth Move” — Carole King and James Taylor
“Born on the Bayou” — Creedence Clearwater Revival
