In a preview of what’s to come for Buffalo-based group Humble Braggers, the band has released their newest feel-good single, “So Alive” on all streaming platforms. With an infusion of retro synth-pop and brash guitar-work, the track is a testament to the feeling of pride and joy that comes across when you’re able to overcome your fears. For lead member Tom Burtless, the surge of serotonin is what encompasses the spirit of “So Alive”:
“So I hate flying. I absolutely hate it. Like, ‘I wonder if there’s a way I can fake being sick and not have to get on this plane’ level of hating it. But once the plane is in the air, those feelings tend to subside a bit. I can start to breathe a bit more normally, I can calm down and I can maybe―maybe―even enjoy it a little bit.
