The Los Angeles band is barely few months old, but they’ve already generated a tremendous amount of verve around their debut EP. Hailing from Hong Kong, Hawaii and New York City, The Mercy Beat is Matty Bennett, Ian Smith and Sam Endicott, the latter being the ex-frontman of The Bravery and writer of songs for the likes of Shakira and Christina Aguilera and of course this 2005 banger.
“bleached out and falsetto fabulous!” – NOISEY
“so sublime that we won’t hold their secrecy against them… it feels like summer.” – LA WEEKLY
“synth gems with (Sam’s) signature falsetto and just the right amount of moodiness” – KCRW
