It is safe to say that nobody loves bags as much as fashion blogger, designer, and personal stylist Miju Bijou. In fact, she dedicated her blog Bag Girl Problems to this very particular accessory. Raking in over 930,000 unique visitors per day, it goes without saying that Bijou’s style is not only vibrant and chic, but also inspirational. Below, we chat with the 24-year-old Los Angeles blogger about her mesmerizing style, travel plans, and what she’ll never be caught dead wearing.
Cliché: How long have you been blogging, and what made you decide to create a fashion blog?
Miju Bijou: I’ve been blogging for about a year now. I used to have a personal blog while I was in college, but since graduation I have decided to create a fashion blog to specify my interests and my daily looks.
Which one of your bags is currently getting the most love?
It’s so hard for me to pick a favorite bag, but if I had to name one, I would say my current obsession is my new Chanel gold sequins flap bag from Chanel’s Cruise 2015 Collection. That bag is everything. It changes colors at every angle, every light. I can’t get enough of it!
Which fashion piece or accessory is currently on your wish list/radar?
The Bvlgari Serpenti watch has been on my wish list for about a year now. One day, it will be mine!
What is your favorite season to dress for?
I love dressing for all seasons. If I had to choose, I would choose fall. Not only can I wear a lot of layers, but I could also pull out my boots and my favorite: FUR!
Where are your favorite places to shop?
It’s quite obvious that my favorite store of all places is Chanel… but I’m no snob. I don’t mind digging for my treasures. Sometimes I go to Nordstrom Rack to check out some hidden goods. I never leave empty-handed.
Who are your favorite designers?
My favorite designers are Karl Lagerfeld and Galia Lahav. Karl Lagerfeld is just a plain genius. Everything he touches turns into beauty and every idea that comes out of his brilliant mind is life itself. Galia Lahav’s couture designs are breathtaking. I do not own any gowns by her, but I have been admiring her work for quite some time now and it amazes me how elegantly her clean seam lines could make a woman look so graceful.
What is something you’ll never be caught dead wearing?
You will never ever see me wearing Crocs. I’m sorry, I just can’t.
Who are your favorite style icons?
Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham. I love Kate Moss’ effortless chicness. In contrast, I love Victoria Beckham’s polished, elegant look. I cannot say who my favorite is. That’s like asking me if I would prefer drinking coffee or hot chocolate. I can’t pick.
Besides bags, what is one fashion piece you can never have enough of?
Diamond earrings. It has been said that a girl looks 1.5 times prettier with earrings on.
In the past, your hair has been a rainbow of shades from blonde to lilac to brown. Which color has been your favorite so far?
My favorite hair color of all time is when I had golden locks. My hair inspiration often comes from Beyoncé. She’s got her hair game on point!
You also have a travel section on your blog. What is your favorite thing about traveling?
My favorite thing about traveling is meeting new people and learning about other people’s culture. That, of course, includes the delicious food this world’s got to offer.
Of all the places you’ve traveled, which has been your favorite?
I loved Prague. I love the small towns, the beautiful and well-preserved architecture. Surprisingly, their beer wasn’t so bad either!
Where do you hope to travel someday?
I hope to travel all over the world someday. Thailand is next on my list! Egypt would also be a dream to visit.
What can your readers look forward to from you this year?
This year, I want my readers to be able to relate and engage with my personal style. You don’t have to be wearing a thousand dollar designer piece to be well-dressed. You just gotta have common sense!
