It’s that time of year again. The Cheltenham Festival has begun this week where hundreds of thousands of racing fans and enthusiasts form all over the globe will attend the week long fiesta of horse races and events. It’s expected though every year. The said festival pits the best British and the best Irish race horses against each other at one of the most prestigious horse racing events of the year. Millions of pounds are bet throughout the week, ending with Friday’s hosting of the Cheltenham Gold Cup called the pinnacle. Along with the exciting horse races and festivities, the Cheltenham festival also gives us a great opportunity to checkout some of the most glamorous outfits as thousands of women flock to infamous racecourse to have fun and show off their outfits.
This week thousands of eyes will be on the the exciting horse races at the Cheltenham Racecourse in Gloucestershire but don’t think for a second that these glamorous fashionistas won’t be noticed in a big way on the exciting Cheltenham Festival Ladies Day. We must say that we have no idea if racegoers will be daring with their outfits as in years past given the temperature is a blistering 8 degrees Celsius. In years past everything from thigh hugging short skirts to fashionable silk dresses have been worn. This year the weather is seasonably cold so a lot of attendees will sporting their latest designer clothing with the thought of keeping warm as well. Expect to see a lot of fur and feathers protecting the fashionable women from the cold.
What makes the Cheltenham Festival so exciting when it comes to fashion is that it presents the perfect opportunity for fashion lovers to show off daring outfits that speak of their personality and personal style. In essence what makes them feel beautiful. Guaranteed you will see exquisite combinations of theme inspired outfits, leather gauntlets, fur hats, tippets, tweed suits (and matching bow ties), fancy dresses and frothy feather capes. Let’s not forget the men who also take advantage of the flashing cameras to show off of variety of tweed suits that might include two tone brogues with multi-colored collars.
Lets not forget about all of the Celebrities who will be out among the fans and enthusiasts at this years event. Some of the stars that will attend Ladies day this year include Love Islands Jessica Hays, Desperate Scousewives star Amanda Harrington and model Katie Salmon. All of whom have their own personal fashion style. It’s been reported that even the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Phillips was seen sporting a plum colored coat with black gloves and tights.
In 2016 even the horses get to join in the fashion fun and festivities. While tweed suits are a common sight among our 2 legged friends at every Cheltenham Festival, what an awesome surprise we were lucky to see during the first day of the Cheltenham Festival when Morestead, a well known race horse modeled the first ever Harris Tweed suit specially created for race horses.
