Chromat Spring/Summer 2016: MOMENTUM Collection

Table of Contents

The next show on my agenda for New York Fashion Week was the Chromat Spring/Summer 2016: MOMENTUM Collection held at Milk Studios. Chromat, known for the structural garments such as their bralettes and caged bondage pieces, stayed true to their aesthetic and style by including lots of cut outs and mesh fabrics in the collection. MOMENTUM focused on keeping the wearer comfortable and relaxed, with pieces fit to format the body during daily and natural stages. The models all had their eyebrows painted blue and hair slicked back which fit well with the ambiance and sport style of the collection.
The show began with a model wearing the Aeros Sports Bra, Mesh Shorts, and Full Arc Sneaker. The bra is quite a futuristic piece in the collection; it’s powered by the Intel Curie Module which includes a sensor that, “allows garments to customize their shape and adapt to the wearer’s environment.” The sport bras and bralettes are surely for the brave and confident, but they can also be worn under tank tops and crop tops. It might be sportswear, but it’s still very sexy. The collection is available for pre-order at Chromat.co.
