Orville Peck, Eva Noblezada to Star In Cabaret on Broadway

Country star Orville Peck will make his Broadway debut as the Emcee in Cabaret this spring.

Peck, known for wearing his signature mask and albums including Pony, Bronco and Stampede, will take on the role opposite Tony nominee Eva Noblezada as Sally Bowles. The two will play a 16-week run starting March 31.

Adam Lambert and Auli‘i Cravalho will play their final performances in the roles on March 29. Lambert and Cravalho took over from Eddie Redmayne and Gayle Rankin, who opened the musical on Broadway in April.

Peck has worked with artists including Willie Nelson, Elton John, Shania Twain, Kylie Minogue and Beck. He trained as an actor at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and appeared in an Olivier Award-nominated play on London’s West End..

“I truly cannot believe I’m getting to make my Broadway debut in one of my favorite shows and in probably my favorite role in all of musical theater. I grew up in the theater. I was a working actor and a dancer for many years before I started making music. I did the hustle, and the struggle, for a long time, trying to make things happen for myself. But it taught me so much of who I am as a performer and a person, so it feels very full circle to be making a return to it at this point in my career,” Peck said.

Noblezada comes to the role after a busy season on Broadway. The Tony-nominated star of Hadestown and Miss Saigon will finish up her run as Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby on Broadway Jan. 30. She will then join the West End production of Hadestown for a limited run before joining Cabaret.

“While studying musical theater in school, Cabaret always stood out. I was, and am, amazed by the lineage of theater royalty who have been in the show. And Sally Bowles to me is simply… fascinating,” Noblezada said.

Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, directed by Rebecca Frecknall, also stars Bebe Neuwirth as Fraulein Schneider, Calvin Leon Smith as Clifford Bradshaw, Steven Skybell as Herr Schultz, Henry Gottfried as Ernst Ludwig and Michelle Aravena as Fritzie/Kost.
