Throwback Thursday The Michael Jordan Way

Table of Contents

In honor of Black History Month and the infamous “Throwback Thursday” that so many of us are familiar with, I decided to take it back to this day in 1988 when Michael Jordan  won the Nestle Crunch Slam Dunk competition with a perfect score of 50 on his final dunk. On February 6, 1988, Jordan delivered this crowning performance in front of a hometown crowd  at the Chicago Stadium during the NBA All-Star Saturday. He is widely considered to be the greatest basketball player of all time, and helped make the NBA popular throughout the world in the 1980s and 1990s.
This basketball legend is a five-time recipient of the Most Valuable Player Award and was a 10-time All-NBA First Team selection. He also had nine All-Defensive First Team honors, 14 NBA All-Star Game appearances, three All-Star Game MVP Awards, 10 scoring titles and the 1988 NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award. Talk about leaving your mark on the world. Michael Jordan is also a well-known entrepreneur, and majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009, and will remain a basketball god for years and years to come.
As an avid participant in the Throwback Thursday trend, I believe that sometimes it is beneficial for us to look back on our lives and see how far we have come. After all, you can’t truly know where you are going if you don’t know where you have been. Michael Jordan is a prime example of what hard work, drive, and endless dedication can help you achieve, and I’m pretty sure if he took a moment to look back on all his accomplishments he would be more than satisfied. That’s Throwback Thursday the Michael Jordan Way.
