Benzino & Althea, Hip Hop’s New Power Couple?

VH1’s smash series “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” may have birthed TV and music’s hottest new power couple, Benzino and Althea, aka”Thi Thi.” This past Sunday June 13, there was an amazing turn out for an exclusive performance taped for an upcoming episode of the hit show. The episode will air this summer, chronicling Thi Thi’s rise in the music industry.
Fellow cast member Kirk Frost hosted the well attended event, and the private musical showcase included a special performance and video premiere of the crowd favorite “Ghetto Love” as well as other music that will be featured later on this summer in an episode of LHHATL. Althea the dynamic R&B singer also debuted her latest single “Bottles (Light The Club Up), which is expected to light up the charts this summer. Benzino closed the show with his new single featuring Rick Ross, “Walk Away.” (Hip Hop Weekly)
Popular entertainment blogger, Funky Dineva said on his website www.funkydineva.com that “Thi Thi TURNED IT! She showed out and shut the place down! In a market where there are very few lanes left for female (Hip Hop/R&B) artists…Thi Thi may just be able to create a lane for herself and ride off into the sunset.”
Some of the night’s special guests included Bobby V, LHHATL cast members Rasheeda, Debra Atney, and Momma Dee. The music showcase was held at the new upscale Vibe restaurant and Bar in downtown Atlanta. Are Benzino & Althea, Hip Hop’s new power couple? It definitely seems that way. Watch out Jay-Z and Beyonce.
