Oscar Nominees Before They Were Stars

Table of Contents

In honor of “Throwback Thursday” and this year’s Oscars which is set to air Sunday, March 2nd on ABC, I decided to take a look back at some of this year’s Oscar nominees before they were stars. We tend to forget that celebrities are just regular people who just so happen to have tremendous amounts of money, but before the fame and fortune came embarrassing high school photos, and bad hair days. Below are some of Hollywood’s finest back in the day. And the nominees are …

Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock seen here during her freshman year, 1979 at Washington Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia. Bullock is nominated for best actress for the movie Gravity. Her beautiful white turtleneck and serious demeanor gives this photo some regal elegance.

Jonah Hill

Jonah Hill seen here during his junior year, 2001 at Crossroads School, Santa Monica, California. He is nominated for best supporting actor for The Wolf of Wall Street. Jonah hasn’t changed much face wise, but he did recently drop some pounds. Look out ladies.

Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts seen here during her senior year, 1985 at Campbell High School in Smyrna, Georgia. Roberts is nominated for best supporting actress for August: Osage County, and was apparently having an awesome hair day in this photo.

Matthew McConaughey

Matthew McConaughey seen here during his senior year, 1988 at Longview High School, Longview, Texas. McConaughey is nominated for best actor for his role in Dallas Buyers Club. He looks like the ultimate hunk in this picture blonde hair and pearly whites. Not much has changed.

So that was just a snippet of whose faces you should expect to see at this year’s Oscars in all their Throwback Thursday glory. Make sure you tune in to see who wins!
