5 Celebrities and The Meaning Of Their Tattoos

Angelina Jolie has a bunch of tattoos that are very meaningful to her. Across the back of her neck she has a “Know Your Rights” tattoo in gothic letters. We all know that human rights and equality is something she firmly believes in. Angelina also has a Buddhist inscription tattoo that was dedicated to her adopted son. It’s been documented that Angelina had to kneel in prayer as famous Thai tattoo artist Noo Sompong Kanhphaiin completed the tattoo in traditional Thai Style which consists of using long needed and manually tatting the skin. The inscription reads: May your enemies run away from you. If you acquire riches, may they remain yours always. Your beauty will be that of Apsara. Wherever you may go, many will attend, serve & protect you, surrounding you on all sides.
Nicki Minaj
Nicki Minaj has a huge tattoo of Chinese characters on the outside of her upper arm. In an interview with Billboard she expressed that she wishes she never got the tattoo because it is on her arm. She originally wanted to put a single Chinese character on her back but it was too painful so she opted to put the tattoo on her arm instead. Her tattoo apparently means “God is with me always.”
Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber has over 45 tattoos covering his body and believe it or not most of Justin’s tattoos have significant meaning. The 3 oddest tattoo’s Justin has are a Bleeding Globe, a Compass and an Indian Head Hockey Team Logo tattoo. Let’s take a look at what each of these tattoos could mean.
Justin Bieber’s bleeding globe tattoo is kind of odd. The globe itself is seemingly being crucified on a cross as it has a crown of thorns resting on top. Perhaps it depicts earth being sacrificed because of the way in which man is destroying earth with pollution, war and depleting natural resources. So what about his compass tattoo that can be seen on the outside of his left bicep? Could it mean that our troubled young star is looking for some direction in his life? The directional dial is point slightly east of South so maybe he knows he’s headed for more trouble? We wondered how many tattoo freaks out there have gotten a tat of their local hockey team’s logo. Probably not many but Bieber does. Following his arrest in Miami Beach back in 2014, police took photos of Biebers tats which included an Indian Head Hockey Team logo which can be found on his left shoulder blade. It’s been noted that this tattoo was the first on his back and is a tribute to his late grandfather who died of cancer. Apparently his grandfather took him to see the local Ontario hockey team play every Friday night. For his sake, we hope Justin stays out of trouble. If he keeps getting arrested, he might find himself getting real Jailhouse tattoos from behind the walls of any number of Jail Exchange County Jails.
Megan Fox
It’s no secret that Megan Fox loves fashion. She has graced the cover of several magazines including Cosmopolitan, Elle and Rolling Stone. It’s also been said that Megan loves poetry which is reflected by the Shakespeare quote tattoo she has on her top right part of her back. The tattoo was done using an Old English font and reads: We will all laugh at gilded butterflies, meaning don’t get too caught up in Hollywood because you’ll be one everyone is laughing at. Megan use to have a tattoo of Marilyn Monroe’s face on her right forearm but has since had it removed. According to Megan, “I’m removing it. It is a negative character, as she suffered from personality disorders and was bipolar. I do not want to attract this kind of negative energy in my life.”
Miley Cyrus
The sometimes troubled singer and actress has over 20 tattoos. Her first tattoo included the words “Just Breathe” back in 2009 when she was just 17 years old. It was placed underneath her breast and was a tribute to her friend who died of lung disease cystic fibrosis in 2007 and to her Grandfathers who both died of lung cancer. Miley’s second tattoo is of the word “Love” which is surprisingly located inside of her right ear. That must have been pretty painful. She mentioned that the meaning of this tattoo is because you are only supposed to hear things from people who genuinely love you. We wonder if she still feels this way. Some of her other tats include a dreamcatcher on her ribs which is a symbol of protection for her 4 sisters and brothers..
