Ciara Miller is embracing every fiber of change on “DWTS.”

The television personality reflects on how rewarding her time on the dance show has been, and how it has also brought her face to face with a silent battle she has fought throughout her years on television.

Ciara Miller is dancing her way to victory so far on the latest season of “Dancing With The Stars” alongside her partner Brandon Armstrong, and they recently received an 18 out of 30 for their tango on the recent episode.

The reality star explained that despite spending half a decade winning fans on “Summer House” and also landing a co-hosting role on “Aftersun,” dancing in front of an audience is a different ballgame. In her words:

“I underestimated the impact of everything. And stage fright is a real thing. Being anxious is a real thing.”

Miller then made another grand confession about a positive side of her that appeared in the competition. She explained that her experience on the show reinforced her confidence and helped her stay more focused on getting anything.

The 30-year-old continued that more than ever, she is relating to the concept of locking in and blocking out the noise if she wants to have a great time on that show.

Her dance partner, during their interview with US Magazine, emphasized that “DWTS” basically forces contestants to face their fears and address their limitations, for better or worse.

The Reality TV Star’s Soured Romantic Relationship Inspired Her Latest Ballroom Routine

Miller’s stage fright did not stop her from sending a loud, yet artistic shoutout to her ex-boyfriend West Wilson, who was in a controversial romantic situation with her former best friend, Amanda Batula.

On Tuesday, September 22, Miller and Armstrong chose to perform a Tango to “No Broke Boys” by Disco Lines & Tinashe. As Page Six noted, the duo chose the song to match the episode’s theme of dancing to songs that broke the internet.

The media personality told host Julianne Hough she chose the song because the title fit a time when a “broke boy” tried to ruin her life, but it didn’t work. The episode featuring Miller’s ex-boyfriend and ex-bestfriend eventually made the 10th season of “Summer House” a smash hit on television.

Batula and Wilson have since confirmed the secret relationship, saying it grew out of genuine friendship and that they had to be extra careful about how they addressed their connection.

The television personality and show judge Inaba shared a candid moment on television that left a lasting impression on her heart and forced her to embrace a bolder side of herself. In a pre-recorded message aired before the tango performance, Miller reflected on Inaba telling her she could recognize the pain she battled.

Miller found deep meaning in the acknowledgment, saying she finally felt seen after spending about seven years on television, with her personality often dismissed as too dramatic. She admitted that vulnerability isn’t a natural trait for her, making it even harder to come undone on “DWTS.”

Miller channeled her discovery into preparing to be braver for her new performance, and her work paid off as the audience blasted applause across the room at the end of her routine. Judge Inaba didn’t hold back with praise for Miller’s intensity and dedication.

The 30-Year-Old Cleared The Air On Her Facial Expression During ‘DWTS’ Debut

Miller and Armstrong made an emotional debut to Whitney Houston’s moving song “Exhale (Shoop Shoop)” that brought the ballroom to tears, including some judges. The duo landed a 15 out of 30 for their brilliant performance as they also bade farewell to some of their fellow contestants.

While the “Summer House” star and her partner soaked in the compliment, Miller’s demeanor caught fans’ attention and sparked conversation. Miller later told Entertainment Weekly that she fell short of words because she was soaking in the moment and mostly felt at peace about making it to the end of the performance.

The reality star continued on Threads that she dealt with severe anxiety throughout the night and worried about letting the viewers down. She reassured fans that her facial expressions meant no harm, as some fans said the look was more like fear than the disappointment speculated.

As noted by The Blast, Miller gave more context to her debut performance, which she dedicated to everyone in her life who helped her get through such a difficult time. She explained that appearing on that stage for the first time was more than landing the perfect score; it was also stepping into a new chapter.

Miller added that many of her struggles before the show happened privately, with her support system by her side, and that it was important to leave that painful chapter behind. Inaba’s comment made the night even more meaningful for Miller, as the judge saw the clear communication behind those moves.

Miller also described dance as an outlet that helps her address her emotions publicly without putting them into words, while embracing healing. For the rest of her ballroom journey, the reality TV star stressed that she is ready to loosen up and enjoy the competition.
