Now that it’s finally summertime, it’s time to up our hair game. From days spent lounging on the beach basking in the sun to steamy summer nights, we’re turning to celebrity stylist and owner of Cristophe Salon Newport Beach, Scott Fontana, for all the hottest tips and trends. What does he suggest? Going all-natural.
“This summer, natural is in,” says Fontana. “Over the past few years, the popular two-toned ombre was the go-to color for many, but now, the more natural your hair looks, the better.”
If you’re hesitant to go more natural because your hair isn’t as “tame,” he suggests trying out the Scott Fontana Collection Smoothing and Thickening Cream. “[This] cream will define those full body tresses, while adding thickness to fine or thin hair,” he says. “The hold is extremely light, making it easy to blow dry or dry naturally. For an effortless look, apply to hair after a day at the pool, or a trip to the beach.”
Another hot trend this summer is a soft-layered bob. Not only is it the desired cut for a hot, humid summer, but it also frames the face well. “It gives anyone a great lift for a fun and youthful look,” says Fontana. To keep this style looking fresh, the Scott Fontana Collection Spray in Condition is perfect, especially if you frequent the beach. Since too much salt water and sun can leave your hair dry and damaged, Fontana says, the Spray in Condition product helps detangle and protect your hair. It also pumps up the shine!
It’s safe to say that touchable waves of all lengths aren’t going anywhere, either. “It doesn’t matter if you have long, medium, or short hair,” says Fontana. “Soft, gorgeous, and touchable waves are the look of the summer.” This versatile look is classy enough for a busy work day and sexy enough for an evening spent by the pool. For this look, Fontana recommends his Conditioning Texturizing Cream to enhance those bouncy waves. Now I think we’re summer-ready!
