Abu Dhabi’s vibrant dining scene in the United Arab Emirates is getting a taste of New York City, NY, with the opening of Brooklyn Chop House at the W Abu Dhabi—Yas Island.

According to a press release shared with AFROTECH™, the iconic Asian-fusion steakhouse will make its international debut on Nov. 30, 2024, located in what is reportedly the world’s only hotel built over a Formula 1 racetrack. The new business will replace the former Indian eatery, Angar, and the Italian restaurant, Amici.

“We are thrilled to bring the vibrant essence of Brooklyn Chop House to Abu Dhabi,” said founders Robert “Don Pooh” Cummins and David Thomas. “This opening is not just about introducing our signature blend of Asian-inspired steakhouse cuisine; it’s about creating a cultural fusion that reflects New York City’s energy while embracing the UAE’s warmth and hospitality.”

Brooklyn Chop House Abu Dhabi intends to provide a premium dining experience that mirrors the energy of New York City while reflecting the elegance Abu Dhabi offers. Guests will have the opportunity to try a variety of dishes, including dumplings, satays, salads, soups, and a selection of premium steaks, with some priced at $189 (nearly AED 700).

Whether for an intimate dinner or a grand celebration, guests can expect an immersive experience featuring curated music, artistic expression, and modern luxury, per the press release.

Diners can secure their reservations for up to six people opening weekend — Dec. 5 to 8 — by emailing [email protected] with the desired date, name, phone number, and party size.

“We can’t wait to welcome guests to a dining experience that is as unforgettable as it is delicious,” the founders added in their statement.

While Brooklyn Chop House is set to make its international debut, it’s not the first time one of its dishes has ventured outside of New York. As AFROTECH™ previously reported, Cummins and Thomas, as well as co-founders Charles Suitt and Stratis Morfogen, made their popular dumplings available in 1,000 Walmart stores nationwide — thanks to a partnership with legendary singer Patti LaBelle. Patti LaBelle Foods has become one of Walmart’s best-selling culinary brands.

The BCH Grocer Frozen Dumplings offer a unique fusion of flavors and cultures, “crafted with the same dedication to quality and innovation” as the brand’s restaurant, per a press release. Launched in 2019, the founders created BCH Grocer to bring the flavors of Brooklyn Chop House to a broader audience.

“This collection promises to transport your taste buds to the heart of New York City’s culinary scene,” the press release said, AFROTECH™ reported. “BCH Grocer dumplings are crafted with the finest ingredients, ensuring an unforgettable taste experience. Each dumpling is meticulously prepared to balance flavors and textures, reflecting our commitment to culinary excellence.”
