Hollywood Hair Bar Founder and CEO Tiffany Rose Dean hopes her story inspires Black woman entrepreneurs to chase their dreams on their terms.

According to Hollywood Hair Bar’s website, the former celebrity fashion stylist created the haircare company to help people grow their hair with products made from natural ingredients.

During Dean’s appearance on the “Earn Your Leisure” podcast, hosted by Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings, she recalled studying online marketing from 2008 to 2018 before officially launching her business. The entrepreneur also shared that she put in the work to get traffic to Hollywood Hair Bar’s website and ensured advertisements on the social media platform Facebook had all the data necessary to reach the target audience.

After collaborating with a marketing agency, Dean says she saw more revenue come in. She claims on the podcast that the company went from making $50,000 a month to making $1 million in its first month working with the agency. What’s more, she says that Hollywood Hair Bar consistently made $2 million every month for two years.

To date, Dean states Hollywood Hair Bar has generated over $45 million in revenue. She emphasized to the “Earn Your Leisure” hosts that she reached this significant number without taking out bank loans.

“To be able to do something like that with no bank loan — I did most of it without even a credit card…That is not heard of as a Black woman,” said Dean on the podcast. “And everyone said, ‘Why didn’t you take money? You’re supposed to use other people’s money to make money.’ And I’m like, you know why? Because I wanted to show the next little young Black girl that she could do it with nobody’s money. That’s why.”

She continued, “I really wanted to have that story to where the next young Black entrepreneur — girl, woman, boy, whatever — could say, ‘Wow, she made $45 million without taking a dime from anybody else.’ I don’t have to have perfect credit. I don’t have to go and beg somebody for help. I can just lace my bootstraps up, and I can go out there, and I can go get it, too.”

Dean is looking to expand her company and her audience and says she’s working on a men’s haircare line for Hollywood Hair Bar. As it continues to grow, Dean hopes to keep her vision within the family.

With no plans to sell her business, Dean expressed on the “Earn Your Leisure” podcast that she wants to pass it down to her daughter.
