According to Poland-based Dictador, a woman robot by the name of Mika was chosen to serve as its CEO, becoming the world’s first AI robot to be CEO of a global company.
“She will be the official face of Dictador, the world’s most forward-looking luxury rum producer,” read the company’s website.
Though the company did not go into detail about Mika’s technology or creation, it said the robot is a more advanced version of her sister prototype that was activated in 2015 by Hong Kong. In her role at the company, she will also serve as a board member and be responsible for the Arthouse Spirits DAO project and communication with the DAO community, working on behalf of Dictador.
Mika’s official career as CEO at Dictador began on Sept. 1, 2022, and today she continues to serve as the world’s first-ever AI CEO robot.
“What impresses me most is that Dictador’s vision of impacting the future has no limits of imagination and value creation,” said Daniel Langer, professor of luxury strategy at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA, and chief executive of the Équité.
“After impressive and inspiring endeavors around the metaverse, NFTs, and the Arthouse Spirits DAO, the new initiative underlines the push into the future: the world’s first CEO that is an AI-powered robot,” he added. “Only rebels at heart can pull off such an idea, and inspire a new generation of digitally native, young, and trendsetting luxury clients.”
According to its website, Dictador, which produces rum and coffee in Colombia and offers Dominican cigars, sees itself as a global thought leader and the next generation collectible. The company takes pride in being a brand that “invites a rebellious mindset” to change the world for the better.
“We respect history, but have a strong orientation to the future,” the brand stated. “Our unique manifesto is demonstrated in us controlling the largest stock of exceptional and rare rums in the world, in our community of masters, artists, and rule-breakers.”
Moreover, the company believes that bringing Mika, the first CEO human-like robot, “to life” is proof that Dictador upholds its reputation for “being a visionary of its times.”
