Care to mention any stores/online retailers where you find the best discounts and bargains?
If I can go in person, I’ll go to outlets. They always have sales along the lines of 50% off the marked price close to holidays. At the end of a season, including the holiday season, I scour the retail stores. That’s where I find a lot of my best bargains. Unlike outlet stores that benefit from tourism, retail stores need to move inventory by appealing to the mass market. What better way than a huge discount? But my biggest weakness is online shopping, especially during the cold months. I can swaddle myself into a blanket cocoon, sip hot tea, and shop from the comfort of my own home. My go-to online shops are ASOS, Topshop, and Shopbop.
Let’s face it: we all have that one lipstick, eyeliner, or bronzer we cannot live without. What’s yours and why?
During the cold months, winter’s dry air dehydrates my skin, but more importantly my lips! I need those babies to talk, eat, and make weird faces. I’ve found Chapstick helps me retain moisture, but it doesn’t heal the chapped lips. So I invest in No. 28 lip treatment oil by Hourglass, an all-natural vegan brand by Carisa Janes. This lip treatment oil uses a lot of amazing essential oils, vitamins, and plant oils to heal and improve your lips. But most importantly, it’s one of a handful of cosmetics I can use without having an allergic reaction, so that’s a winner in my book!
What do you hope to create and spread on Dear Sunny?
I want to be inspiration and courage for my readers. I want to dare them to not only dream, but to pursue those dreams as Nicole once did for me. If I had never read her blog, I’m not sure I would be blogging right now. That reason was a big motivator for me to create Dear Sunny. I’m not sure in what way I’ll achieve this because I don’t know where blogging will take me. In a few years, I may create dreamy, surreal photos or sell crafts online as a way for people to create with me, but no matter what I do, I will continue to inspire others.
