Sleep Well Beast by The National
The newest release from old-timers The National, this album shows a change of pace for a group that seemed to have introspective indie rock down to a science. While most of their albums fit in nicely to a snowy landscape, Sleep Well Beast is notable for its forays into the excitable. It does not drone or drag. On the contrary, this album is very much alive, while keeping in tune with The National’s signature, sober style.
