After several days of teaser videos, graphics, and lyrics, the punk rock band Fall Out Boy has finally released the single “Centuries” off their anticipated sixth studio album (coming soon).
“We never had a plan to jump right back into it after whirlwind year we’ve had… but sometimes the song calls you,” the band wrote on their website. “We started writing ‘Centuries’ while we were on tour because we felt the calling.”
The black and white music video was shot primarily in Instagram’s newest app Hyperlapse and exhibits a bustling, electric portrayal of city life.
“Make no mistake,” the band continues, “‘Centuries’ is, at its most distilled, the story of David & Goliath. It is us passing along the story of how we feel right before we step on stage, trading feeling small and human for all the sweat and grit and sheer power of belief it takes to stare down a giant.”
Check out the video premiere below, and let us know what you think in the comments! Are you excited for the new album?
