It might be Halloween, which means it’s time for creepy costumes and binge-watching spooky movies, but I don’t do horror films… ever. Now, what I do accept around this holiday is the use of horror film soundtracks. Music creates the right type of mood and lets you know that something’s about to happen in a movie. These soundtracks have created some of the most iconic songs that send shivers down your spine every time you hear it play. If you want to play some creep tunes at your party or while people trick-or-treat or just because you like to listen to some eerie sounds, here are some of the creepiest halloween soundtracks for you:
- Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho
- Gore Verbinski’s The Ring
- Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street
- Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining
- John Carpenter’s Halloween
- Nicolas Winding Refn’s Valhalla Rising
- Richard Donner’s The Omen
- Roman Polanski’s Rosemary’s Baby
- Wes Craven’s My Soul to Take
- Tobe Hooper’s Poltergeist
