They got themselves booted straight to the naughty list.

Two street characters in Mexico dressed as Santa Claus and the Grinch duked it out over tips in a showcase of the darker side of the Christmas spirit.

The duo were posing for pictures with passersby in the central Mexico municipality of Aguascalientes when the apparent disparity in their tips sparked a brawl.

Local news outlets reported that one of the men was peeved when he noticed that the tourists were giving the other character more money. Onlookers, mainly tourists checking out the Christmas displays in the city’s square, called the cops as the conflict escalated.

A viral video captured the aftermath of the fight as the police handcuffed the Grinch, whose heart was apparently still two sizes too small.

Saint Nick was lying on the ground a little further away receiving medical aid from a paramedic before he was also handcuffed.

“They were consumed by the character,” one user commented on TikTok.

Christmas crimes like the cage match between the Grinch and Claus aren’t uncommon around the holidays.

Just two weeks ago, a pair of thieves dressed as Santa Claus broke into a store in Brazil and made off with 33 cell phones, five video games, and a speaker.

Back in the US, a holiday heist as a high-tech toy company fell victim to a scam and lost three truckloads of merchandise worth around $1 million.

People are even trying to use the holiday chaos to cause some mischief of their own that certainly wouldn’t land them on the nice list.

One Canadian tried to smuggle 22 pounds of meth into New Zealand by disguising it as a Christmas present. She had a total of $2 million worth of meth.
