During Cenat’s stream on Feb. 8, he announced that he has teamed up with Nike, reportedly making him the first streamer to join the sportswear brand, according to Complex.
“I would like to announce that we are officially a part of the Nike family,” said the 22-year-old, according to the outlet. “This has been a long time waiting.”
As of this writing, no further details have been reported on what Cenat’s partnership with Nike entails. However, per the outlet, he shared he has “something big” in the works with the brand for an upcoming in-real-life stream in Las Vegas, NV.
Cenat has reportedly made additional streaming history outside of his Nike announcement. In 2023, he was said to have become the third streamer to amass 200,000 subscribers on Twitch as well as the first Black streamer to reach the milestone, as previously shared by AFROTECH.
While Cenat has achieved numerous feats in the streaming world, he also comes from humble beginnings. As AFROTECH has reported, the New York native credits “Aunt Cathy” for his start in editing videos as she was the one to give him his first laptop. They had met when he started going to a summer camp in Boston, MA.
“Literally every time I came here it was amazing,” Cenat recalled to Aunt Cathy when describing his visits to her home in a YouTube video. “Also, you’re like a second mother to me. You literally got me everything I wanted that my mom sometimes couldn’t afford, from the [Nintendo] DS to the games to me being in Gamestop. It meant a lot.”
He added, “The amount of things you’ve done for me I can’t even pay it back.”
Since building his popularity on Twitch, Cenat has had special guests such as Nicki Minaj, Drake, 21 Savage, Offset, and more.
