If you have ever encountered anyone aged 10 to 20, you’ve probably heard of Olivia Holt. Newly 18, the recent high school graduate is a regular on red carpets, working on her debut album with Hollywood Records and, most impressively, starring in her own Disney Channel show.
Raised from a humble background in Mississippi, Holt says that she’s always had an affinity for Disney. “Lizzie McGuire was a must; I couldn’t miss an episode,” she gushes, as we chat about the iconic show of the early 2000s. “And That’s So Raven, along with Phil of the Future. It’s a dream having had watched those shows as a kid and now having my own.”
Her show, I Didn’t Do It, is now in its second season thanks to its devoted fan following. For those unfamiliar with the teen comedy, the show centers around a set of fraternal twins (played by Holt and her co-star Austin North) and their friends as they attempt to navigate high school. “We’re both young and kind of still growing into our own skin,” Holt says, speaking to the similarities she sees between herself and her character Lindy. “We’re figuring out life with our friends and staying passionate about what we believe in.”

For Holt, two of those passions include singing and acting. “It’s nothing I really went looking for. I kind of fell into it by accident,” she admits. Growing up, Holt starred in numerous theatre productions for her local community before moving to L.A., which is where she landed her three-season run with the role of Kim on Disney XD’s Kickin’ It. Reflecting on her start, she says, “Singing was my first love, but I have fallen equally in love with acting as well. I don’t know if I could choose one over the other.”
