Robert Downey Jr. welcomes baby girl! Can you believe it? With all the attention the Iron Man star has received from the latest The Avengers movie, we barely even realized the actor was expecting a baby with his wife Susan Downey!
According to E! Online, the couple, who married in 2005 and have been together nine years, has just had their first daughter! The newest Downey addition joins big brother Exton Elias Downey, who was born February 7, 2012.
The newborn baby girl is actually Robert Downey Jr.’s third kid. Before Exton, the actor previously had a child with his ex-wife Deborah Falconer–a son named Indio.
Robert Downey, Jr. had tweeted about he and his wife expected a child back in July and had posted to Facebook about his future baby; he stated, “I don’t know if it’s a ‘man’s world,’ but I’m certain women run it. Susan and I are therefore delighted to announce we are expecting a baby. Girl.”
The Avengers: Age of Ultron star had joked to E! News about his future child: “I’ve never had a daughter before, so I don’t know what really prepares a dad. I’m asking around. But I did my part and now I’m just going to show up and do what I’m told.”
