Critics Choice Awards: You’ll Be Enchanted By Cynthia Erivo and Taylor Swift’s Bond
Cynthia Erivo’s latest gig proves how popular she is this award season.
The Wicked star has been announced as the host of the 78th annual Tony Awards which will air live on CBS June 10 from the iconic Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
“I am so proud and excited to take on this glorious honor,” the 38-year-old said in a press release. “I am looking forward to ushering the theatre community at large through a night that celebrates the wonderful performances we have witnessed throughout the year. I hope I can rise to the occasion.”
Of course, Cynthia, who is succeeding three-time host Ariana DuBose as emcee, is no stranger to the Tonys stage as she previously took home the trophy for Best Leading Actress in a Musical in 2016 for The Color Purple.
As for who will join her at the ceremony later this spring? That remains to be seen as the 2025 Tony nominees will be announced May. 1.
