Here at Cliché, we always have your nails covered with the latest and greatest nail products out there. So when Void Beauty (www.voidbeauty.com), an eco-friendly nail lacquer line, came across our path we couldn’t wait to share this innovative and modern brand. Void Beauty’s unique goal is to create a cruelty-free and vegan-friendly line of nail lacquers made with great quality and in superb shades. Their motto, “Beauty doesn’t have to to be toxic,” sums up just what this brand is all about in a nutshell—or nail polish bottle to be exact.
Founder Patrice Anderson was inspired to create such a line of nail polishes from her love of of mani-pedis and good and organic things. Her inspiration led to the creation of polishes that are certified green and 5-free, meaning that there is no formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP, Camphor, or Formaldehyde Resin in the ingredients. Instead, the polishes are made with just the right amount of organic ingredients to create polishes that won’t hurt your nails but will instead make them look simply gorgeous in all the right ways, of course.
Each season’s colors are influenced by its customers, so this season Void Beauty was all about rich and nourishing colors for the soul. Check out some of these beautiful polishes, but first read on as founder Patrice Anderson herself lets us in on the inspiration to this delectable brand.
Cliché: What made you want to create nail polishes that were organic? Where did you gain inspiration from?
Patrice Anderson: My nails are so sensitive that I’ve always been very particular about the products that I use. I started learning more about polish ingredients. I also found that I was “color directing.” I could never find just the right hue. I wanted to add just a touch of something. I was filling a VOID, but I also wanted to make sure that our products were void of things that aren’t so good for us.
How do you go about creating these polishes? What is your creative process for the names, colors, etc.?
I wanted the names to be fun and memorable, nothing too serious. The hues remind me of places that I’ve visited and the vibrant hues that you’ll see in those countries or cities or even people.
What are your favorites out of the polishes you have created? Name a must-have for the holidays for our readers!
Rise & Shine is one of my favorites. It’s something that my mom and grandmother would say to us every morning. A must-have color for the holidays and one that I absolutely love is Silver Lining. I’ve been wearing it periodically with Ride or Die Red.
Any hopes/dreams/New Year’s resolutions for Void Beauty in the New Year?
Absolutely. We’re exploring new hues. We’ve also been testing some cuticle treatments.
