Moisturizer

The first thing that you are going to want to do when you have a short notice date is ensure that your skin looks well-hydrated. A nice moisturizer will help you but only use it if you’re not wearing a concealer or base on your face already, obviously. If you went to work with minimal makeup on, you’ll be able to rub some moisturizer in your skin to make it look fuller and healthier.

Eyeliner

When you’re applying makeup, your first goal should always be to frame the face. Make your eyes ‘pop’ by giving them a good outline. If you can pull off the lovely cat eyes then make that happen, otherwise, use whatever style works for you. Eyeliner can be tricky to pull off if you’re not a pro, so if you have any doubts, just use some mascara and hold off on the eyeliner for another day.

Light Lipstick

Heavy red or purple lipsticks are great for nighttime, but they don’t do a whole lot without a complementary outfit. If you’re going out on a lunch date, then the chances are high that you are going to want to wear some lipstick that is on the lighter side. Again, you are working to frame your face and provide the best look for you, so use a color that can go with anything like a light pink if you have fair skin.

Eye Shadow

The last way that you are going to focus on your eyes is through eye shadow. Again, you might want to go on the lighter side both in color and application of your eye shadow because that will give you the best look without clashing with the colors that you are wearing. Unless you are wearing that nice black dress from your closet, the chances are that you want something that will go with a blouse and some nice pants.

Perfume

Last on our list of quick tips for a short-notice first date is perfume. You might not smell it, but being around coffee and working under stress is going to make you clothes smell. Perfume is great because it covers up the onion bagel smell that you burned this morning and anything else you picked up by being near people who are smoking, for example. All in all, perfume is a fabulous thing to have in your emergency date pack because it will help you add another sensory experience for your date. Not only do you look nice, but you will smell nice as well and that can go a long way.

All in all, there are a lot of different ways that you will be able to get yourself freshened up and looking your best when you are put on short notice. As long as you have a decent makeup kit at your desk or in your car, you will be able to look and feel amazing. Take some time to stock your kit with a moisturizer, eyeliner, light lipstick, perfume, and eye shadow. Each of these different pieces will work together to give you an incredible look that makes you appear to be ready for anything.
