Tanning season is amongst us, ladies, and we want that perfect glow for summer — minus the tanning beds and orange hands. We promise you that we have found the best tanning products that will surely get you beach ready and feeling like a beach goddess this year.
Hoola Zero Tanlines Body Bronzer ($30)

Let’s not get started on the ultra-cute yet super functional packaging this bronzer has to offer. This all-over body 12-hour bronzer will change your entire self-tanning game. Hands-free and easy to use, the applicator creates a transfer-resistant and streak-free tan. Pop the top off, apply a dab of bronzer (it’s buildable!), and blend the seamlessly smooth formula over your soon-to-be — what Benefit Cosmetics likes to call — “beachin’ bod!” This product can be found at your local ULTA Beauty store, Benefit Cosmetics counter, and/or Macy’s.
St. Tropez Self-Tan Bronzing Mousse ($32)

What would our list be without St. Tropez?! Known as the “most genuine tan color from a bottle,” this self-tanner is practically a cult classic.
Aqua Tan Self-Tanning Body Milk ($42)

This is another self-tanner with great, believable color and enriched with white tea, cucumber, and green tea extracts, all of which help hydrate the skin, an important and often overlooked aspect of self-tanning. You can guarantee that this self-tanner will have you looking and feeling pretty with its fresh scent, quickly drying time, and ability to leave behind that icky sticky feeling.
Clarins Self-Tanning Instant Gel ($37)
Optimized-Nordstrom

Clarins gel is great for our more fairer-skinned lady friends. This is one of the self-tanners that doesn’t leave an orange complexion; it also applies colorless, which makes it feel more like a lotion while producing a natural-looking tan.
Keep in mind that for best and long-lasting results, it’s important to use a mild exfoliant and to shave before you apply your self-tanner. Use a mirror during application as well so that you can see what you’re doing; areas such as the knees, hands, elbows, ankles, and feet can be overlooked or missed, even in the slightest, at times. Better to be safe than sorry, so go light! Don’t be so heavy handed with your use as too much tanning lotion can show your mistakes, especially in the areas we mentioned above. But most importantly, have fun with experimenting because it’s summer after all, and it’s all about having fun.
